Jan Knopp

Design / Communication

Jan Knopp (*1975) works as creative director in the field of design and communication. In 2010 he founded Karl Anders, Studio for Brand Profiling, in Hamburg together with Claudia Fischer-Appelt and Lars Kreyenhagen. In 2013 he moves to his family in Basel and joins the design agency Mé Mesmer Société GmbH as a partner. In the same year he starts as a lecturer for design and communication and member of the board at HyperWerk Hochschule Gestaltung und Kunst FHNW Basel. Since 2016 he has been active with his own agency Studio Piet and works for clients from the fields of design, architecture and consumption. Since 2019 he is head of the CAS Digital Cultures & Communication SKM University Basel.

His work has won several Red Dot Awards, German Design Awards Special and ddc Awards. 2015/2017 he was a member of the ddc jury in the categories "Future" and "Digital". Since 2019 he has worked as a communication specialist for Idee und Klang.
