New Corporate Sound Architecture
We are happy to announce our nomination for the BrandEx Award with our exhibition Sounds of Silence in the categoriy Architecture/Best Thematic Exhibition. Keep your fingers crossed for the next round. We're looking forward to January 2020, when the International Festival of Brand Experience will take place in Dortmund.
Klang Moor Schopfe
On Thursday Klang Moor Schopfe, the (only) sound art festival in Switzerland, will open its doors. During 11 days, more than 20 artists* from all over the world will play a total of eleven agricultural creations and the Schützenhaus in the high moor of Gais with sound installations. Our founder, Ramon De Marco, is among them (Schopf Nr. 3). His work is dedicated to three-dimensional field recordings from the raised bog, which move in their constant, musicalized transformations between macro- and micro-perspective... International Sound Award Nominee 2019
We are nominated for the International Sound Awards 2019 in the category Soundscapes and Ambient Sound. Our work Sounds of Silence for the "Museum für Kommunikation" in Bern convinced the jury and we are in the final round. On 19 September in Hamburg we will find out whether we are going back to Basel with an award in our hands. The label "Better Sound 2019" we have for sure.
Schindler Visitor Center
After almost two years of concept development, prototyping, composition and sound design, we are about to realize seven large multi-channel sound installations for the new Schindler Visitor Center near Lucerne. The sound scenography is part of the storytelling for the new Visitor Center. The story focuses on the one billion people that Schindler moves every day.

Museum of the Future 2019
We are very happy to be able to create music and sound design for the Museum he Future at the World Government Summit in Dubai again this year. As in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, we will now be honoured with this complex audio design project again in 2019. The opening is planned for mid-February.

As already announced, Idee und Klang paid a visit to the Kalahari desert in order to make some 3D-file recordings for !Khwa ttu, an exhibition about the San. The term San denotes a number of ethnic groups in southern Africa who originally used to live as pure hunters and collectors. During our journey we recorded for example wildlife, atmospheres, stillness and cultural sounds of the San. Detailed information on this project will follow!
Giants of the Ancient Seas

The exhibition 'Giants of the Ancient Seas' at the Museum Lokschuppen in Rosenheim leads across the Mesozoic era, past fascinating exhibits and true-to-life reconstructions of marine dinausaurs. Idee und Klang lays out the sound design for the exhibition which will open in 2019. We are also going to be involved in the follow-up exhibition 'Ice Age' in the year 2021.

In a few weeks Idee und Klang will head to the Kalahari Desert to record 3D Soundscapes for !Khwa ttu, a new Heritage Centre for the Bushmen/ San of southern Africa. It is the only one of its kind for the First People of Africa. It is located in South Africa, 70 kilometres north of Cape Town. To get more information about our work there, stay tuned!
Between heaven and earth - 1000 years of Worms Cathedral

On the occasion of the cathedral’s 1000-year consecration, both the Nibelungen Museum and the City Museum at the Andreasstift open a contemporaneous special exhibition, for which Idee und Klang have created a purely auditory exhibition in cooperation with curator Claudia Glass. The exhibition is about the infamous Quarrel of the Queens; more here.

The National Museum of Qatar

The National Museum of Qatar, designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel, is close to opening its doors. The time has come to install its content in accordance with the museography project, also drafted by Nouvel's studio. Idee und Klang was nominated as the audio consultants for the museum.

During the exhibition TonArt, in the Tonwerk in Lausen, Ramon De Marco and Matthias Bosshard have presented the installation 'Zwitscherkosmos'; a mobile with a diameter of 5 m, which allows eight sound sources to be moved in space. In combination with the subtle arrangement of the sounds, a kind of acoustic magic world emerges, which moves from the perception at the border of the natural. More here.

The Kunstmuseum Basel currently presents the exhibit 'The Hidden Cézanne - From Sketchbook to Canvas’. One part of the exhibition is an animation, that shows the history of Cezanne’s sketchbooks. Idee und Klang added sound and music to the wall projection. Find out more here.
Astana UP Pavillon

The slogan of the British Pavilion for Expo 2017 Astana is ‘We Are Energy'. It assembles visitors inside a precisely designed, interactive yurt, which is surrounded by a panorama projection. Idee und Klang supported iart with the interactive control of the exhibit’s soundtrack by Brian Eno. Find out more here.
Queen Maud’s Album

On July 4th, 2017, Queen Sonja of Norway opened ‚The Art Stable' at the Royal Palace in Oslo. It will have three new exhibitions on display each year that vary from art exhibitions and object displays from the Royal Collection. Besides the sound design we also contributed custom-made software allowing adjustment of the exhibit's volume based on the amount of people inside the installation area. More info here.
Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang

In collaboration with Klangerfinder GmbH & Co KG in Stuttgart, Germany, we have designed the entire sound design for the Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang. The Hyundai Motorstudio is the largest theme park in Korea, dealing with the topic of automobiles. The large exhibition covers four floors, in which the visitor is given an interesting insight view about the production process and the functioning of cars. More information here.

Since a couple of weeks we are finally one of the 150 Auro-3D-approved "Leading Studios of the World!" Our new Auro-3D system enables us to mix and produce music, sound design and everything in between, in this immersive surround sound format. We have already been able to make use of Auro-3D at the Museum of the Future 2017 in Dubai. More about this project here. As in 2015 and 2016, we created the music and sound design for this year's Museum of the Future in Dubai. The exhibition addresses the reality of climate change and presents a future where we have not only survived the challenges of climate change in the mid-21st century, but have thrived. The exhibit emphasises the inevitability of major environmental change and the importance of being proactive and able to adapt. More infos here.
Lindt Mannequin Challenge

The Mannequin Challenge is an internet trend which is particularly popular with famous athletes. Now Roger Federer joined the race in collaboration with Lindt. Our partner Brand Pictures produced the video and Idee and Klang created the music in reference to the official mannequin challenge song, 'Black Beatles' by Rae Sremmurd. Watch the video here.

Stefan Wiesner, the so-called 'wizard from Entlebuch', is a culinary artist who was awarded 17 Gault-Millau-Points as well as one Michelin star. For the current autumn menue called ,Nature Speaks', Ramon De Marco has composed a special acoustical overture in terms of a sound installation.
